Trial Win for Client Accused of Misappropriating Corporate Assets
After trial, a client accused of misappropriating assets was vindicated by a judge who found he had done nothing wrong. A former shareholder of a corporation engaged in hard money lending, alleged that the client transferred corporate assets to himself and to other companies created by the client. After four years of hotly-contested litigation and after a six-day trial, the judge ultimately found that the former shareholder "failed to introduce evidence he [the client] had diverted assets." "I'm happy for the client," trial attorney Bill Buus said, "since he has had to endure a lengthy process filled with nasty allegations that ultimately were never proven. He's obviously very relieved."
